Meet Jax,
Jax is a little over a year old Antolian Shepherd and Kangal mix. You may recognize him, as he’s the brother of our long-term foster, Zeus! Jax hasn’t shown any similar signs of dysplasia as Zeus, but he will have an x-ray at the time of his scheduled neuter appointment to rule it out. GAHS will be covering the cost of the neuter as well as the x-ray. Because of Jax’s unknown hip status, Foster-To-Adopt would be considered in his case.
Jax is a gentle giant. He is a guardian breed, which will be apparent in his desire to announce strangers with his booming bark. Don’t let that voice fool you, cause once he’s had a sniff and given you a good look over he is all smiles. Jax loves being around his people. He is great with kids but under supervision, as he’s still learning not to jump up. Jax does really great with other dogs, and he pays no mind to cats.
Jax is housetrained, no counter surfing here. Jax is working on his leash manners, as he has a tendency to pull. He is very interested in all of the smells, but is very food motivated. As mentioned previously, Jax does have a habit of jumping up. An ideal home for Jax would be one where regular training could be provided on a daily basis to help Jax flourish.
Jax is a sweet boy with tons of love to give. He will be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys spending time inside and outside, has the time and dedication for training, and understands that along with Jax’s big size comes a big bark. Jax will reward you with loyalty, personality, and the warmest cuddles known to humanity.
If Jax sounds like your kind of dog, please head to our website and fill out a Dog Matching Application.
